Use these links to learn more about what you can do with search results in INSPEC & COMPENDEX.
You can choose to further refine your search from the search results page. An "Edit" button appears near the upper left corner of the search results page. Clicking on this button takes you to a screen screen where you can add more search terms. Make the changes you wish to the search and click the Search button.
Alternatively, you can refine your results using the 'faceted results' on the left hand side of the results screen. These are an analysis of your results by author, author affiliation, controlled vocabulary (subject terms), classification code, country, language, publication year, document type, and publisher. Numbers in parentheses adjacent to each term indicate the number of records found for each within your search. Click "View more" to expand each list up to 60 terms.
Use these facets to refine your search by checking the box next to a term that you want to refine your search with. For example if you want to see results only by particular authors check those and hit "Limit to." If there are some terms you wish to be removed from your search, check this and hit "Exclude."
