Library Lounge

Library Lounge is a new initiative intended to improve students' research literacy during the course of an entire semester. Through a flexible combination of co-designed course research assignments, customized library resources, and librarian support embedded into a Canvas course site, students engage in both structured and self-paced activities to develop greater expertise over time. We work with instructors to curate a course-specific library or instructor-created video tutorials, licensed research databases, and self-assessments that are available to students 24x7 in Canvas.  In addition, a subject specialist librarian may be added to the site and participate in discussions and consultations with students at particular points throughout the semester. We have found that through this process, students become more confident and capable of producing high-quality research. For more information about Library Lounge, send us a request.

Canvas

Canvas is the centrally-supported learning management system at Penn. Even if you have been using it for years, there is always something new to learn! Visit the Canvas page to find out about Canvas-specific workshops, help appointments, and pilots underway. If you are interested in learning how to select and evaluate technologies for teaching and learning, you will likely be interested in our Digital Pedagogy workshops.
