Penn Library Services

Penn Library Services Online

While the Library may offer more limited in-person access to building resources due to social distancing limitations, the Penn Libraries staff is here for you! On the library website, you'll find many online resources in the form of guides and almost all guides will provide contact information to the library staff who manage the resource or service. Can't find who you are looking for? Visit the library staff directory to search by library specialty, colundefinedlection, language or other category.

The Electronic Resources Guide will direct you to online resources about Penn Libraries policies and access protocols, troubleshooting strategies and many tips for customizing and improving your experience using the many online resources for research.

Research Guides will introduce you to the impressive range of research services at your disposal as a Penn student.  A staff of subject specialist librarians is available to help you strategize research approaches for the classes you take within a subject, or they can assist you with larger research efforts such as an honors thesis project. You can also explore online resources by research guides organized by subject area.

Course Guides are research guides which are tailored to specific courses, and Tutorials are opportunities to develop research skills, investigate subject areas, and explore a variety of software and hardware technologies used across Penn Libraries and Penn's campus.

Service Guides have been created to help you navigate the range of services available in Penn Libraries, including information on workshops, scanning and printing resources, equipment borrowing and a number of other resources you'll want to know about in your studies at Penn.
