Projects

Creating a Project

  • To create a project in SciFinder-n, navigate to the top taskbar, where you can select the icon with four dots on it. From there, you can find "Projects" as your first option. Select that option.

  • Selecting Projects will bring you to a new page. From here, you can select "Create your first project."
    • Alternatively, if you already have one project, your option will be "Start New Project."
  • A new window will overlay onto the screen, and you can create a project name and description here.
  • When done, select "Save."
  • The creation of a project in SciFinder-n.
  • This will create the project and bring you back to the Project window.
  • After creating your first project, your Project window should look like the following.

  • Selecting any project will open that project. Currently, our project contains nothing, so it will look like the following.An empty project in SciFinder-n.

Adding to a Project

  • You can add References and Substances to a Project.
    • You cannot add Reactions or Suppliers to a Project.
  • To add References to a project, you can employ two methods:
    • Individually add References by selecting the folder icon associated with each individual Reference.
    • Select all the References you want for your project, them add them with the folder icon in the top navigation.
  • Adding References to a project in SciFinder-n, using two different methods.
  • The same can be done for Substances.
  • Selecting Substances to add to a Project in SciFinder.
  • However, note that the navigation for individually adding Substances is somewhat different, as you must press the three dots on a substance before adding it to a Project.
  • Adding a substance to a project in SciFinder-n by selecting "Add to Project."
