Exploring References
Interpreting Your Results
By default, reference results appear as sorted by relevance with a partial view of the abstract. You can change this with the dropdown menus.
You can see what sources a result cites by clicking the "Citing" box on a particular result.
You can also see the Substances and Reactions discussed in a particular result, as well. For more information on this topic, see Exploring Substances or Exploring Reactions.
Knowledge Map
SciFinder-n also has a Knowledge Map function that can help you to visualize the density of certain concepts in the literature, the substances discussed, and the authors or organizations involved in references that appeared after your search query.
Using the search function can help to find certain concepts you may wish to focus on. For instance, you can see from the knowledge map that many of your results include COVID-19 in them, and you can see which results this connects to.
You can also edit the information displayed on this page with the tabs at the top. For instance, if you only wish to see the References and Substances, you can filter by those at the top.
Note that References can not be turned off.
You can also move any of the bubbles around as you see fit; here, the bubble for Lignin and all the References associated with it have been moved to the bottom left corner.
The relations (the lines that connect the knowledge map) are still preserved when you do this.
