Intro to Penn Research Guides

What is a LibGuide and how do I find one that's relevant to my information need? Just as there are subject librarians for every discipline at Penn, there are library research guides, or, LibGuides, that feature a multitude of different resources and fields of study. This short workshop will demonstrate how to find books, both full text e-books online and physical print books in Penn Libraries collections, and how to make requests for books. Participants will learn about PickUp@Penn, library accounts, making book chapter scan requests, and interlibrary loan.

Participants will learn about Franklin Articles+, Penn Libraries article search tool, general research databases and some differences between them, Google Scholar hacks, and how to improve search results by using sometimes lesser known subject databases to find articles. Open to everyone!

This workshop will also be offered a third time after this Back to School workshop series is completed.
