Founded in 1985 by journalists and scholars, the National Security Archive combines investigative journalism, research on international affairs, library, and an archive of declassified U.S. documents.
U.S. Declassified Documents Online provides immediate access to a broad range of previously classified federal records spanning the twentieth and twenty-first centuries. The collection brings together the most sensitive documents from all the presidential libraries and numerous executive agencies.
This project is a critical data and visualization intervention in the USA’s 2018 “Zero Tolerance Policy” for asylum seekers at the US Ports of Entry and the humanitarian crisis that has followed. It maps ICE facilities and other sites of immigration detention in the US.
