A Citation Map is a graphical representation that shows the citation relationships (cited references and citing articles) between a paper and other papers using various visualization tools and techniques. The citation mapping tool from Web of Knowledge tracks an article's cited and cited by references through two generations.
Do a search in Web of Science Core Collection and select a record
Click on the link View Citation Map link
Choose Forward, Backward, or Forward and Backward, plus 1 or 2 generations
Click Create Map button.
You can order, color code, or print the map. Mouse over a name on the map for the citing article's information.
