Veterans Upward Bound Library Resources : Reading Call Numbers

Reading Call Numbers

To see which floor an item is on, click on "See shelf location" in the  Franklin record. Click here for more information on that.

Call numbers are addresses for books and other library materials. Most books at Van Pelt have Library of Congress call numbers and begin with two letters. This directory (pictured below; also posted at the elevators and available at the reference desk) will tell you which floor the book is on based on the first letter. You'll usually also be able to see whether the book is located on the east or west side of the building. (Look for the compass on the elevator floor.)
