ORCiD: Web of Science

Web of Science

The Web of Science is owned by Clarivate.  It compiles linked citation and abstract data and provides a search engine and analytics.

Linking ORCID and the Web of Science

  1. Log in to your Web of Science ResearcherID account or create a Web of Science ResearcherID

  2. Navigate to your Profile in the pop out menu on the left hand side of the screen.

  3. In the Profile drop down menu, click on My Researcher Profile - Edit.

  4. In the pop up box, click on ORCID Syncing.

  5. Click on Connect Your ORCID.

  6. Authenticate your ORCID account and authorize access.

Import Citations from ORCID to Web of Science

You can activate automatic syncing by turning on Export records to the Web of Science from Orcid on the ORCID syncing tab of your Edit Profile window.

Import Citations from Web of Science to ORCID

You can activate automatic syncing by turning on Export publications to Orcid from the Web of Science and/or Export peer reviews to Orcid from the Web of Science on the ORCID syncing tab of your Edit Profile window.  You can manually sync your Web of Science records by doing the following

  1. Either click Send ResearcherID publications into my ORCID account and/or Retrieve ORCID publications into my ResearcherID account
  2. Select Send

No more than 100 publication records can be sent from Web of Science to ORCID in one submission. You can repeat the process to send more.
