The Penn Libraries are not just a collection of spaces or books, but we're a group of people who are here to help and support our students and the Penn community. For new students, contacting a librarian and asking for help can sometimes be an intimidating and confusing process. Our "Meet Your Librarian" efforts help put a face to the library, enable students to feel more comfortable, and allow them to identify who they can turn to for help
We are asking librarians to create short videos to introduce themselves to students and welcome them to the library. These videos will be displayed together on one page enabling visitors to, at a glance, familiarize themselves with some of our library staff. Links will be provided to each librarian's main library profile page as well as to any other NSO programming they will be offering.
In addition, the page will provide links to our subject specialist page enabling students to see a complete list of subject librarians, including those who did not create a video. ** Librarians are not required to create videos but they are encouraged to do so.**
Once videos are created, they can be repurposed by the librarian for other uses in the future.
