Partner Services

LinkedIn Learning. Current Penn students have access to a range of video tutorials through LinkedIn Learning. Course offerings include software products widely used on campus such as the Microsoft Office suite, Google Analytics, and Drupal, as well as topics on audio, video and graphic design production for use in research and course work as well as to enhance key business skills such as project management, marketing, and collaboration. 

Professional Growth Opportunities at WIC

Level Up is a program for Penn undergraduate and graduate students that pays students to lead workshops in Making, Digital Media and Design, and Research Tools and Technology. Library staff will work closely with Level Up workshop leaders to develop a successful workshop plan, provide all the support necessary to ensure a successful workshop, and compensate students for their time preparing and conducting the workshop.  All you need is a workshop idea!

The Seltzer Family Digital Media Awards.  The Penn Libraries is proud to offer digital media project awards for undergraduates. Each award provides up to $1,000 for the purchase of equipment (both hardware and software) and supplies to support a new media project for up to one year.

The Hoesley Digital Literacy Fellowship. The Hoesley Digital Literacy Fellows program includes a cohort of juniors and seniors each year. The program encourages creative exploration of technologies commonly used in our rapidly evolving 21st century workplace and beyond.

Book a Group Study Space. Reserve a private room in WIC for your group. Each WIC Group Study Room seats up to eight students and includes a whiteboard, computer and display screens. Some rooms have a built in video camera and some have IMacs with cameras for video conference and recording capabilities. When booking your room, click the info button to see each room's equipment setup.  

Reserve a Booth. Book one of WIC's 12 data diner booths in the Information Commons. Each has a monitor on articulated arm, a PC desktop, a PC laptop with webcam, and connections for personal laptops. 

Study in open seating alcoves. WIC has two study alcoves - the Microsoft/Lenovo Group Study Alcove and the Sandra S. Kerbel Memorial Group Study Alcove.

Search Penn Libraries Spaces. Find your favorite quiet spot, access to tech, or a place to meet with your group. 

Explore media production at WIC. Along with the special classroom and meeting spaces in WIC, Penn Libraries supports student work in a variety of digital media in:

• The Vitale Digital Media Lab
• Hechtman Recording Studio
• Butler Assistive Technology Room in Van Pelt Library  

Get Technical Support. Our media production spaces are staffed with people who can help you make a poster, create a podcast or finish a video by assisting you with equipment and software for class, research and personal projects.

Borrow Equipment. The Vitale Digital Media Lab has a large assortment of multimedia equipment to help with your big presentation, phone battery emergencies, or recording videos for your hamster's climb to internet stardom!
