Wellness Spaces

Next time you're visiting the Biomedical Library, be sure to visit the Consumer Health Information Corner and the Relaxation Room.

Consumer Health Information Corner

The Biomedical Library receives an abundance of free consumer health information from the National Library of Medicine, the National Institute of Aging, Philadelphia FIGHT, and other government agencies and non-profit organizations. Stop by the Biomedical Library's Consumer Health Information Corner to pick up free consumer health information.

Relaxation Room

In collaboration with the Center for Public Health Initiatives, the Community Health & Engineering Librarian opened the Relaxation Room in the newly reopened Stemmler side of the Biomedical Library. The Relaxation Room is a quiet space intended for folks to take a break from studying and other stressful things. You are welcome to stretch on the yoga mats, do chair yoga, color, write positive thoughts, listen to soothing music, do a puzzle, squeeze a stress ball, and/or play with a fidget spinner! In addition, the Biomedical Library is partnering with the Fisher Fine Arts Library to do interdisciplinary exhibits and events geared towards wellness. In the meantime, please continue adding suggestions to the Relaxation Room Wish List.

Thanks to Librarians' Assembly, you are welcome to attend meditation workshops on select Monday mornings and yoga workshops on select Friday afternoons throughout Fall 2019 in the Relaxation Room.
