PennText in GoogleScholar

Google Scholar

Links to Google Scholar from Penn Libraries' webpages are customized to show PennText links to full text, however recent Scholar changes have made these less usable.

A better solution is to set up Scholar to show PennText links, by logging into your Google account (on or off campus) or using browser cookies on a given computer.

From Google Scholar, choose Settings from the menu across the top right.

Scholar menu

On the left sidebar, choose Library links

Search for "University of Pennsylvania" in the library access links search box. Make sure to choose the PennText option and Save.

Look for the "Fulltext via PennText" link on the right of your search results in GoogleScholar,

When you click on the Fulltext via PennText link, you may be asked to log in with your PennKey and password, and then you'll be connected to the article.

If the Fulltext via PennText link does not appear, this means that the item is probably not available online via Penn Libraries. To confirm this, click More at the bottom of the citation. This will give you options to check PennText for online links or print holdings, and to order a copy of the article through interlibrary loan.

If the More link does not appear, click any link that says All x versions.  One of the versions may have a PDF or More link that can be used.
