Knowledge Synthesis Mission

A team comprising librarians with different subjects of expertise dedicates to the synthesis of knowledge by contributing expertise in information retrieval, organization, and other aspects, in order to enhance the university's research production. 

Definition

What is knowledge synthesis?

"A knowledge synthesis attempts to summarize all pertinent studies on a specific question, can improve the understanding of inconsistencies in diverse evidence, and can identify gaps in research evidence to define future research agendas." (Kastner 2012)

Research Projects the Librarians Can Support

  1. Research project needs comprehensive literature searches.
  2. Research topics get involved multiple subjects. 
  3. The research aims at synthesizing evidence to support creating new services and programs, or improving current practices.
