Finding research articles
- Franklin Articles+Find journal articles, book chapters, ebooks, newspaper articles, and more. Includes links to Web of Science and Scopus to explore citing literature.
- Google ScholarAcademic journals covering a broad range of disciplines. Choose Settings then Library Links to set-up links to journals within Penn's subscriptions via PennText.
- Business Source CompleteBusiness literature database that includes scholarly, trade and general business publication publications, ranging from titles like Strategic Management Journal to Harvard Business Review to Technology Review. Look up the citations for your focal article as a jumping off point to determine relevant subject terms. You can also use the Times Cited in this Database link from a particular article to find newer articles that cite it.
- ABI/InformSimilar to Business Source Complete, but also covers news sources like Wall Street Journal and FT.
- Web of ScienceMultidisciplinary database that allows you to search for articles that cite a known author or work, as well as for standard keyword and author searching. Use the Related Records feature to find items that have citations in common with your focal paper.
Books
For books, periodicals, and other Penn Libraries materials, search in the Franklin catalog for keywords such as "silicon valley" OR "santa clara valley" (use quotes to search for phrases). Sample titles:
