Bolton Farm

Effingham B. Morris owned the land that became Bolton Farm

The original Bolton Farm was established in 1937 from a gift by the heirs of Effingham B. Morris (1856-1937; right). The farm covered 469 acres in Falsington, Bucks County. Originally intended to form part of a School of Animal Pathology, the farm was not able to fulfill the vision of the dean at the time, Dr. George A. Dick.

Eventually the decision was made to sell the land due to increasing urbanization in the area. Funds from the sale were used to purchase South Brook Farm on behalf of the Vet School; the new plot of land in Chester County covered 220 acres at the time of the sale and has been added to over the years. This farm became the New Bolton Center which now covers 687 acres.

New Bolton Center was instituted in 1952 and today continues to be a thriving hub for advancements in agriculture and caring for animal health and welfare.
