VR Dog Days Hubs Room

Penn Libraries Dog Days in Hubs

Welcome to Penn Libraries Dog Days Hubs Room & Pet Gallery!

Alongside our Penn Libraries Autumn Dog Days events on Friday December 11, stop by our virtual pet gallery on Mozilla Hubs and post a pic of your favorite pooch or kitty between 11am and 4pm. Mozilla Hubs is a browser-based VR experience that works best with laptop or desktop computer on Firefox or Chrome browsers. Hubs also works on standalone VR headsets. Navigation and posting are more difficult on mobile devices and some older devices may not work.

Welcome to Digital Dog Days!

On December 11, visitors can enter our digital rooms via Zoom. Find a pet and click on the photo or date/time listed in their profile box. Or view our Schedule At-a-Glance.

Feel free to say hello or ask questions!  You may turn your mic or video on if you wish to engage with the pets and handlers in each room. Feel free to also use the chat function.  Visitors can also watch in silence, if preferred.

And when you are done with the live animals, head over to our virtual reality Dog Days gallery to see and share pictures of your pets.

Belka and Chaplin
with Laurel Graham, Penn Libraries

1pm - 1:30pm

Belka (pictured) is a guard Pomeranian named after the second dog in space.  Chaplin always wears formal wear.

Jamie, Socks, and Rabbit
with Susan Gavin-Leone

1pm - 1:30pm

Jamie, Socks and Rabbit (clockwise, from left) are all adopted from rescue groups. Jamie is 3 years old and has his Canine Good Citizen award. Socks is 6 yrs. old and was adopted last year. Rabbit, who is just visiting, will turn 1 next month. Currently they all are sheltering-in-place together. They will demonstrate for you some of their favorite homemade puzzles, games, toys and treats to show how they stay active and engaged during what might otherwise be a stressful time.

Tri-colored dog panting to left, soft golden dog to right

Ruby & Zim
with Molly Bonnard, Penn Libraries

1 pm - 1:30 pm

Ruby is a tripod but that doesn't slow her down: she once caught a rabbit. Zim is a big scaredy cat afraid of the garbage truck, thunder, fireworks, and the Phillie Phanatic.

Cat on its back showing its tummy

Anya
with Mayelin Perez, Penn Libraries

1:30 pm - 2 pm

Equal parts trash baby and spoiled princess, Anya enjoys bird watching, sumptuous seafood feasts, and lying on her back while tempting onlookers with her fluffy belly.

Beagle curled up on soft dog bed

Josie
with Margaret Janz, Penn Libraries

2 pm - 2:30 pm

Josie is a nervous beagle who loves her Kong and fears basically everything else.

Small black dog with wavy fur looking to left

Lorelei
