Introduction

Dreamweaver is a powerful program that can create and manage complex websites and web applications. It is part of the Adobe Creative Suite (along with Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.). Compared to the other programs described in this guide, the learning curve for Dreamweaver is quite steep. It may be best approached after gaining basic knowledge of HTML and CSS code.

While other web design systems like WordPress offer server space for hosting website, Dreamweaver works differently. It will help facilitate transferring a website to a server, but the user must set up the site themselves with a web hosting service. Dreamweaver is a great tool for website creation if you want a high level of control over all aspects of design. It also helps in maintaining large, complex sites or managing a website among multiple people.

Why use Dreamweaver?

  • You can completely customize your site using HTML and CSS.
  • Dreamweaver provides templates to help you start without facing a blank slate.
  • Use built in tools to design for multiple devices (computers, phones, tablets).
