NAVLE Preparation Resources: NAVLE Prep

Note: The NAVLE exam was extensively rewritten in 2013-2014 and earlier materials may not reflect the current content or style of the exam.

Administered since 2000, the NAVLE consists of 360 clinically relevant multiple-choice questions and is a requirement for licensure to practice veterinary medicine in all licensing jurisdictions in the U.S. and Canada. Developed in collaboration with the National Board of Medical Examiners® (NBME®) through the Collaboration for Veterinary Assessments Governance Committee (CVAGC), the NAVLE is offered at Prometric computer testing centers throughout North America and certain overseas sites (from the International Council for Veterinary Assessment 2019-2020 Annual Report).

Many of the resources in this guide are based on recommendations from annual reports prepared by the Student American Veterinary Medical Association (SAVMA)
