ARTH 1060-001: Rare Books for Architect and History: Rare Items at Fisher

Books in the Fisher Fine Arts Rare Book Room

Below, you will find a list of the items highlighted during your visit to the Perkins Rare Book Room. The linked titles will take you to the records in Franklin, the Penn Libraries catalog. Click on "Request to view" from a record to let us know you would like to consult an item. You can also set up your Special Collections viewer account from the Research Account page.

Requesting to Use Rare Books

If in the catalog record you see that the status/location for an item is listed as "Locked Case" or "Rare Book," you must fill out a request form to view the item.

  1. Click the link "Request to View" next to the call number. You will be redirected to a sign-in for your Special Collections research account, which you can set up there if you have not already done so.
  2. The system will automatically populate the request form. Check that all information appears to be correct, as there are sometimes errors with auto-fill features.
  3. Be sure to indicate the dates when you intend to use the items so staff can be prepared to accommodate you.
  4. Wait for notification that your items are ready.  Please note that preparation of items held in off-site storage (LIBRA) will take a bit longer.

Items may only be viewed at the Fisher Fine Arts Library.  We look forward to see you in our Rare Books Room!
