Live in the Philadelphia area? Visiting from out of town? Feel free to come by the library! We host regular events, and the Penn Museum is free to students!
Penn Libraries is here to support SEAS Online students.
We provide a wealth of resources to promote academic success. Doug and Stephen are your primary points of contact for the libraries. Please feel free to reach out to us with any questions!
Our Engineering Collection page is the main hub for engineering resources in the library. It is a great starting point for research. From that page, users can connect to publisher platforms, standards and patent databases, and much more. (NOTE: If you have trouble connecting to online resources, this guide can help with troubleshooting.)
Penn Libraries is also pleased to offer a "Books By Mail" service, in which off-campus students in the US and Canada can have materials delivered to their homes. To sign up, or for more information, visit this page. Additionally, we offer Interlibrary Loan services and reciprocal borrowing agreements with several other institutions. Visit this page to learn more.
Penn Libraries offers various software tools, including Overleaf (LaTeX), ArcGIS (mapping), DMPTool (data management), and Zotero (citation management). For information about off-campus access, see this page.
Doug and Stephen are always happy to assist you via email or Zoom, but if you have an immediate question, you can use our chat service, which is staffed by a real, live librarian (not a chatbot!) from 9 AM - 5 PM, Monday through Friday. The chat service can be found in the left-hand sidebar of our website, under "Ask." (NOTE: If you use the "Ask" function outside of normal business hours, your request will be submitted as an email. Our staff will respond as quickly as possible.)
