Google Scholar enhanced with access to Penn-subscription fulltext articles. Multidisciplinary database with broad coverage of many fields. It is better for the social sciences than it is for the humanities. Searches databases such as JSTOR as well as scholarly works on the public web. Use the PennText icon to connect to the article in full text when it is not provided online for free.

Coverage of all disciplines varies, some as early as the 1600s. Up to a five-year embargo on recent articles. JSTOR specializes in making available the back issues of journals in a wide variety of humanities and social science disciplines, some dating to the 17th century. Issues are available both as images and as text, making searching possible both within each title and across the whole database. It i ncludes archives of over one thousand leading academic journals. Since there is a delay in coverage up to about five years, this is not a source for the most recent articles.
