For this tutorial, we will use geocoding and a tool called Spatial Join to compare two kinds of retail locations in the Philadelphia metropolitan area according to the characteristics of the neighborhoods where these stores are found. Our data are spreadsheets of store addresses and a shapefile of median household income by census tract, from the American Community Survey 2006-2010.
