Rare Book & Manuscript Collections

The Rare Book & Manuscript Library (RBML) possesses a number of Portugese language and Portuguese published materials. The Portuguese Culture Class Collection of 47 items documents print culture from the early 16th century into the mid-twentieth century. The extraordinary Lea Library, a collection within the Rare Book & Manuscript Library, counts more than 100 items in Portuguese. Characteristic of Lea's interests, these focus on the Catholic Church and the Inquisition. One could also find RBML holdings by searching Franklin for items published in  Lisboa OR Porto OR Oporto OR Lisbon or on the subjects Portugal OR Portuguese
