Book Artist in Residence Selected

by Mary Tasillo on 2019-08-20T09:00:00-04:00 | 0 Comments

Common Press and Philadelphia Center for the Book are pleased to announce the selection of our inaugural Book Artist in Residence at Fisher Fine Arts Library, University of Pennsylvania. We received many thoughtful proposals from artists both local and out-of-state. The jury selected Katie Amelia Baldwin, a printmaker and book artist in Huntsville, AL, with ties to Philadelphia, for both the strength of her work and the ties between her creative practice and the landscape architecture collection at Fisher Fine Arts Library. Katie’s proposal is to research the representation of landscape and architecture within the library collection and will use this research to inspire a narrative artist book that reveals the interior and exterior of both human-made and natural environments. The work will be developed and printed at Common Press over the coming year.
