FNCE 2510/7510 Finance of Buyouts and Acquisitions

Getting Started

This guide provides links to resources that will be helpful as you develop your projects. Use the tabs to find information about various aspects of your projects.

  • Company Accounts & Financials - current and historical financials and filings.
  • Company Analysis Perspectives - use these resources to find articles and analyst reports covering your company.
  • Deal, Competitors & Industry Comparisons - find competitors, benchmarks and deals.
  • Organizing and Documenting Your Work - tools and tips for keeping track of your research and citing sources properly.

Identifying Companies for Your Projects

If you don't know what company you'd like to use for your project, try searching our key business literature resources, Business Source Complete (use the TX-All Text option from the drop-down menu on the search page) or ABI/Inform (eliminate Wire Feeds as a content type from the Source Type options on the Results page), using the following search strategy:

("takeover interest" or "buyout interest" or "potential buyout" or "possible buyout" or "potential takeover" or "takeover target*" or "possible takeover" or "possible target") and "private equity"

This may give you some ideas about industries where there is a lot of interest/activity.
