We are excited to invite you to celebrate GIS Day 2025, a day dedicated to the fascinating world of Geographic Information Systems (GIS). Whether you're a GIS enthusiast, a seasoned professional, or just curious about the power of maps and spatial data, this event is for you!

π Location: RDDSX space, Van Pelt Libraries center, 1st floor

Call for Presentations:
Do you have a GIS project (complete or in-progress) that uses any level of GIS or spatial data as a component, research, or innovative application to share with the GIS community? We invite you to submit your presentation proposal for GIS Day 2025. This is your chance to showcase your work, insights, and experiences in the world of GIS.
Presentation can be full length 15-to-20-minute presentation, or up to 5-minute lightning talks, as well as digital posters and exhibits pertaining to mapping, GIS, geospatial research, hands-on demonstration of project website, web-map, story map, or an app. Delivery option can also be synchronous or asynchronous (pre-recorded video).
Submission Details:
Simply fill out the presentation proposal form at https://upenn.libwizard.com/f/PennGISDAY2025 with a draft title and brief description (max 250 words) by November 7, 2025.
At Penn Libraries, we can help you find, create, and analyze maps and geospatial information. As part of the Research Data and Digital Scholarship team, we provide GIS consultation and project support to everyone in the Penn community.

We provide GIS support across campus for students, faculty, and staff. Here are some of the things we do to provide GIS support:
Consultation: Sign up for 1-on-1 GIS or mapping consultations, up to an hour at a time.
Training and workshops: Regularly scheduled workshops, on-demand training, or tailored, project-specific instruction.
Project Support: Classroom support and instructional sessions, including resource and data retrieval, spatial analysis tutorials, and instruction on geographic theory
Services: Value-added services such as geospatial data processing, spatial analysis, address geocoding, and cartographic layouts (maps for presentation or publication).
Outreach: Outreach activities on campus through in-classroom presentations, guest speakers, faculty, and students.
