About SimplyAnalytics

SimplyAnalytics allows quick access to rich marketing data sets, among other data sources.

Advantages:

  • Ability to export your map as an image file or to download it as shapefiles for use with ArcGIS and other geospatial software
  • Nielsen and Experian marketing segmentation data
  • Quick access to rich marketing data sets, among other data sources

Disadvantages:

  • Difficulty in judging the source of the data
  • Difficulty in adding multiple locations to reports.

SimplyMap Tutorials

SimplyMap provides a whole host of tutorial videos that explain everything you can do with the tool from how to make a map with business points to how to use data filters.  These can be found by clicking on the "Help" drop down menu at the top right of the screen, pictured below.

Using SimplyAnalytics

1. Access SimplyMap through the Penn Libraries website by clicking on the "Connect to resource" link located in the "Online" box on the right side of your screen. 

 

2. You will be asked to enter your PennKey and password.

Alternatively, you can create your own account (it's free!), but you don't have to for the purposes of this guide and tutorial.

MLA

Map:

APA

"If you create maps and reports in SimplyMap and incorporate them in a website, book, or PowerPoint presentation, you will need to cite the information in APA stye. Here are some examples of how to do this:
