Inkscape to Adobe Illustrator Guide

This guide walks through transferring an Inkscape design into our Adobe Illustrator template for submitting laser cutting requests. 

  1. File > Save As

  1. Inkscape SVG (*.svg) for the file format

  2. Open the laser cutter template file in Adobe Illustrator 

  3. File > Open and select the Inkscape SVG file to load it in a separate tab

  4. Select > All (or Ctrl-A / Command-A)

  5. Edit > Copy (or Ctrl-C / Command-C)

  6. Select the tab for the laser cutter template file 

  7. Edit > Paste (or Ctrl-V / Command-V)

  8. File > Save As

  9. Name your file and select Save on your computer. Select Save on your computer again if prompted.

  10. Select Adobe Illustrator (*AI) as the file type and save your design

  11. Your file is now ready to be submitted!
