Laser cutting at the Bollinger Digital Fabrication Lab, Holman Biotech Commons

This guide walks through transferring an Inkscape design into our Adobe Illustrator template for submitting laser cutting requests. 

1. File > Save As
   

2. Inkscape SVG (*.svg) for the file format 
   

3. Open the laser cutter template file in Adobe Illustrator 

4. File > Open and select the Inkscape SVG file to load it in a separate tab 
   

5. Select > All (or Ctrl-A / Command-A) 
   

6. Edit > Copy (or Ctrl-C / Command-C) 
   

7. Select the tab for the laser cutter template file 

8. Edit > Paste (or Ctrl-V / Command-V) 
   

9. File > Save As 
   

10. Name your file and select Save on your computer. Select Save on your computer again if prompted. 
    

11. Select Adobe Illustrator (*AI) as the file type and save your design 
    

12. Your file is now ready to be submitted!
