Below are my notes from a presentation by Matt Roberts, our AV Coordinator, on 8/30/2022
Setting Up
- Touch the wall panel to wake.
- Select the "Room Computer or Laptop" option on the screen
- The screen should slide down from the ceiling and the projector will turn on.
Using the Room PC
- In order to log on to the room PC, press Esc-Ctrl-Alt-Delete
- Log in using your PennKey
- It might take a while if you haven't recently used the computer.
Using a Laptop
- IT suggests the installation of "DisplayLink" software if you plan to project from your laptop. The software is not always necessary. PC users will likely get away without it. Mac laptops will need the software.
- You can test your laptop without the software using the purple connector to connect your laptop at the podium. Wait a minute to see of the laptop projects onto the screen.
- If you need the software, use google to search for "displaylink windows". Select the first option in the google results. It should be to a Synaptics site. Download and install the software.
- In order for the Displaylink software to work, you need to make sure that it's running in the background on your laptop.
- Once you confirm the software is running, attach your laptop using the purple connector at the podium. Your laptop should project to the screen.
Using Zoom
- If there are remote audience members, start up the Zoom client. Using the room PC, you will need to search for it in the bottom-left Windows menu.
- After Zoom opens, click the SSO option and when prompted enter "upenn".
- You should then be prompted to enter your PennKey.
- A pre-selected camera image should then display in the Zoom window.
- You can use the wall panel to select the other camera (cameras are labeled 1 & 2). You can also move the angle of the camera and zoom in to a certain area of the room.
- Use the Share option to share your screen with the audience.
When Done
- Log out of the room PC
- Select "System Off" then "System Off" again.
- Screen should retract and projector should shut down.
