Luso-Brazilian Studies

A full-text (no images) online service that provides access to sources of national and international news, business, health and general information. It covers over 32,000 sources in 28 languages from 200 countries. Business is emphasized in its current News Pages for Brazilian group that includes O Estado de São Paulo, Folha de São Paulo, O Globo, et al. There are also a number of publications from Portugal and Lusophone Africa and Asia. Historical searching of the individual publications rarely goes back earlier than the last decade: Folha de S. Paulo (1997), O Globo (1997), Zero Hora (2010), Diário de Notícias (Portugal, 2010).

Searchable page image reproductions of pre-1923 newspapers, worldwide. Based largely upon the holdings of the Center for Research Libraries, these newspapers are released in regional collections. The large Latin American file includes major Brazilian and Lusophone African newspapers. The Jornal do Commercio runs from 1839 to 1908 and the Estado de São Paulo from 1875 to 1922.
