Lippincott Library Services

This guide describes the services available to members of the Wharton and Penn communities from the Lippincott Library.

Research Support

Research Consultations - Contact the subject specialist for your department for assistance in your research process from tracking down potential sources of data to tools to help manage your citations.

RA Training - Contact the liaison for your department to provide specialized training for research assistants, such as in-depth instruction on specific resources, citation searching, and assistance with using historical sources.

Table of Contents Email Alerts  - Our Alerting Services guide highlights several table of contents services. In particular, JournalTOCs is a free, user-friendly option that provides tables of contents for thousands of journals. From the JournalTOCs platform, users can:

  • follow and receive email alerts for up to 30 journals
  • create, save, and receive email alerts for up to 100 article metadata searches
  • save, share, and export up to 100 articles

Document Delivery (Electronic and Print)

E-mail our document delivery team (docdel@wharton.upenn.edu) with citation information for the articles or books that you need. We will provide electronic copies of materials to you whenever possible, including scanning print journal articles or book chapters, and we will deliver physical books to your office mailbox. If an item is not available in Penn's collection, we submit an Interlibrary Loan request on your behalf and deliver the item upon arrival. We can also pick up items that need to be returned to the library - just leave them in your mailbox or at the front desk of your department, and email us with the number of items for pickup.

DocDel is staffed Monday through Friday. Expect items within Penn's collection to get to you within 24 hours. Items ordered from our institutional partners may take several days to arrive.

Note that we adhere to US copyright laws, including Fair Use, so we may be limited in the amount we can scan from a single journal issue or book.
