Clinical Rotation Resources: Mobile Resources

AccessMedicine

  • Create an Access Medicine Account (if you don't already have one). You cannot create an account via the app, but must do so through the Access Medicine website (must be on UPenn/PennMedicine network to access): AccessMedicine Link
  • Download the Access Medicine app from Google Play (Android) or App Store (Apple)
  • Sign-in to the app using your Access Medicine username/password
  • NOTE: You must sign-in to your Access Medicine account while on the UPenn/PennMedicine network once every 90 days to maintain access to the app.
     

Browzine

BrowZine AppDownload instructions can be found on our BrowZine guide.

When initially launching BrowZine, select University of Pennsylvania from the drop down list. Enter your PennKey credentials when prompted and you are ready to go! Unlike other current awareness tools, you will be able to access your journals from off-campus without having to proxy.
 

Clinical Key

ClinicalKey AppThe mobile interface is web based so you will need to be connected to the internet when using on your smartphone or tablet.  In order to access via your device, follow these instructions:

  • You will need to first access ClinicalKey on the Penn/UPHS campus.
  • Once there, register for a personal account by clicking “Register”.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to create a username and password. You must use your upenn email address, gmail or other commercial email account will not work.
  • Login to the ClinicalKey platform using the username and password provided during registration. Click on your name in the upper right corner. Click the "Remote Access" link. Apply for remote access using the same upenn email address provided during registration. In the Choose Organization popup window, select UNIVERSITY OF PENNSYLVANIA - University of Pennsylvania - NERL. There are two entries for this; selecting one will select both entries. Click the Continue button.
  • ClinicalKey will display an activation message and send a confirmation email. In the confirmation email, click the link to officially start your remote access.
  • Download the free ClinicalKey Mobile app from the App Store or from Google Play.
  • Launch the app from your device, and sign in using the email and password you created.

Remote access is granted for 180 days. Prior to the end of the 180 days, log into your ClinicalKey personal account via the library's link. This will extend access another 180 days.

Dynamed Plus

Dynamed AppDynaMed Plus mobile access has recently changed.  The mobile app is available for any iPhone or iPad running iOS 7.0 or higher as well as any Android device running Android 20.4 or higher.  The app requires at least 500MB of memory.

 

Download the DynaMed Mobile app from the iOS/iTunes App Store or the Google Play Store

Next, access Dynamed Plus using your browser. You may be prompted to authenticate with your PennKey.

  • Click the "Mobile" link in the top menu on the screen.  You will be prompted ot enter your email. 
  • Open the email sent by DynaMed ON YOUR MOBILE DEVICE. 
  • Click the "authentication key" link that appears in the email. 
  • The Dynamed Plus app should open and installation will begin.

uCentral from Unbound Medicine

Before using this site, you must set up an individual uCentral account.

  • Using your PC, go to Ucentral.
  • In the upper right-hand corner of the screen, click “Login”.
  • Choose “Register”.
  • Following the directions listed on the page, submit the required information. Please take note of your newly created uCentral/Unbound Medicine username and password.
  • After your account has been created, you will receive a registration confirmation email. This email includes instructions for installing the app on Apple, Blackberry, Android and Windows platforms (or you can follow the directions on the Web page that appears after you've finished registration).
  • Once the app has been installed, open the app. You will be prompted for your newly created uCentral/Unbound Medicine username and password.

Visible Body

Visible Body Suite AppIn order to use the Penn Libraries institutional subscription to Visible Body Suite, one needs to create an account using a Penn email address. To create an account, chose the "Don't have an Account? Sign Up" link the first time accessing the site.

Use the following link to access Visible Body Suite login page. Once you have created a user account, you can login from anywhere with the email and password used to create the account.

Next, on your mobile device, navigate to your mobile app store and search for "Visible Body Suite".  Download the app.  Once opened, click the "Sign in!" option and enter your Penn email and Visible Body password.

VisualDx

  • Visit VisualDx
  • Create a Personal Account [look for the icon near the bottom of the screen] and fill out the information to create a personal login account.
  • For mobile: search VisualDx in either the App Store or Google Play. Download to your mobile device and enter the username and password you created in Step #2.
