International Relations: Finding Books

Books at Penn Libraries

Franklin, the Penn Library's online catalog, lists more than two million books, journal titles, and other materials contained in campus libraries. Note: The Biddle Law Library has its own completely separate catalog, LOLA.
You can search Franklin by author, title, journal title, subject, or keyword. For information on searching, consult Franklin Search Help.

Keyword: Use keyword searching to combine concepts (X AND Y) and to search for particular words or phrases that might appear in titles or notes or subjects. Quotes are used for phrases:

Author: Try corporate bodies such as:

Subject: It may be useful to be familiar with some of the Library of Congress subject headings listed below. As part of the vocabulary that catalogers use to describe book topics, subject headings, once identified, can be used to find more books and other publications on the same subject. Many are used in conjunction with other terms, often country names. Thus, "foreign relations" is usually placed between two country names, e.g., "China -- Foreign relations -- Great Britain."
