ORCiD: Scopus

Scopus

Scopus is a product of the Elsevier publishing company.  It compiles linked citation and abstract data and provides a search engine and analytics.

To get support with your Scopus Account, check out their help pages.

Linking ORCID and Scopus

  1. Open the Scopus2Orcid wizard. Use the Start button.

  1. Authenticate your ORCID account.

  1. Authorize access (for Scopus to read your ORCID record and generate a preliminary author record search). You can use the edit link to revise your author record search.

  1. Select Scopus profiles that reflect your work. Use the Next button.

  1. Select your preferred profile name. Use the Next button.

  1. Review publications. Remove citations you did not author. Use the Next button.

  1. Confirm the content you'll send to ORCID. Use the Next button.

  1. Send your Scopus Author ID to ORCID, supply your Penn email address and use the Send Author ID button. Expect a confirmation email.

  1. Send your Scopus publication list to ORCID, use the Send my publication list button.

This process also merges your selected Scopus author records, improving how Scopus reports your scholarly output.

Import citations from ORCID to Scopus

The Scopus database is managed by Elsevier.  They select which publications to add to the database.  It is not possible to add citations from an external source into your Scopus profile.

Import citations from Scopus to ORCID

New publications that Scopus associates with your selected Scopus Author ID will be added to ORCID automatically. If Scopus generates new author profiles for your work (e.g.: if you change institutions), repeat the above linking process.
