Wellness Spaces

As of Wednesday March 2nd, 2022, the Relaxation Room has reopened. If you prefer a virtual option, please visit the virtual Relaxation Room and Game Room available in the Engineering Library Suite on Penn Libraries Gather.Town.

The Consumer Health Information Corner will remain unavailable until further notice.  Looking for consumer health information? Check out these Recommended Resources

Consumer Health Information Corner

The Holman Biotech Commons receives an abundance of free consumer health information from the National Library of Medicine, the National Institute of Aging, Philadelphia FIGHT, and other government agencies and non-profit organizations. Due to the ongoing renovation of the Holman Biotech Commons, the Consumer Health Information Corner will not be set up until late 2023 or 2024. To pick up free print consumer health information, please email the Holman Biotech Commons. If you would prefer online consumer health information, schedule an appointment with Aman Kaur.

Relaxation Room

In collaboration with the Center for Public Health Initiatives, the Community Health & Engineering Librarian opened the Relaxation Room in the Stemmler side of the Holman Biotech Commons in 2018. The Relaxation Room is a quiet space intended for folks to take a break from studying and other stressful things. You are welcome to stretch on the yoga mats, do chair yoga, color, write positive thoughts, listen to soothing music, do a puzzle, and/or squeeze a stress ball!  In the meantime, please continue adding suggestions to the Relaxation Room Wish List.

Due to the popularity of the this room, the Vet School Library, the Van Pelt-Dietrich Library Center, and the Dental School Library opened similar wellness rooms.
