Using Franklin Articles+

Advanced Search

The Articles+ Advanced Search allows you to enter searches that will retrieve more focused results than do basic keyword searches. Use the Advanced Search interface to select search fields and add Boolean operators (AND, OR and NOT) between search terms.

One way to look for a movie review. Film reviews are not content types in Articles+, but most film review have "movie reviews" in the subject field:

Apply filters before executing a search to further refine your query and limit the search results returned, or expand your search to include items in the  that are outside the Penn Libraries' collection.

Fields Searched in the Advanced Search

Basic

  • All Fields (excludes Volume)
  • Author (includes Author and Corporate Author)
  • Title (includes Title, Subtitle, and Document Title Alternate)
  • Publication Title - Identifies the source (journal, newspaper, book, etcetera) of the item (journal article, newspaper article, book chapter, etc.)
  • Subjects
