ScholarlyCommons complies with Penn Libraries’ Privacy Policy and is committed to providing access to services and information online in a manner that respects your privacy. End User data of ScholarlyCommons will not be shared, though the information outlined below may be securely saved based on varying retention criteria:
End Users and Contributors
ScholarlyCommons saves a record of End User’s IP addresses, but we do not intentionally record any identifying information. If End Users log in with a PennID, our system retains a record of the session and any statistical reports you create during that session. Any correspondence with libraryrepository@upenn.edu will also be saved for an indefinite period.
ScholarlyCommons saves a limited amount of identifying and contact information of contributing authors during upload and cataloging. This information may be consulted and used in the course of Repository operations and the information associated with uploaded items (author, title, and abstract) is included in the publicly available ScholarlyCommons item record.
Google Analytics
The Libraries may use Google Analytics or other web log analyzers to collect and assess information about the use of services. You can learn about Google’s practices by going to www.google.com/policies/privacy/partners/, and opt out of them by downloading the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on, available at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.
