Standard desktop scanners are directly connected to a public computer, they are best used for scanning smaller scan jobs.

Standard Desktop Scanner: How to Scan
To scan using Acrobat Professional:
Login using your PennKey username and password
Place your document on the glass
Open Acrobat Pro
Click File -> Create -> PDF from scanner
HP/Epson scanner dialog box opens (if more than 1 page, choose "prompt for additional pages.")
Click the Scan button on the scanner dialog box
Acrobat takes a minute or two to complete the scan
If scanner more than 1 page, go back to step 4 and repeat until you are finished
Remember to save your file before logging off
